The University of Liverpool is seeking an exceptional Head of Trusts and Corporate Philanthropy to lead on and substantively develop income from charitable trusts, foundations and corporate organisations.
This is a new role which will enable the postholder to devise and deliver an ambitious new Trust and Corporate Philanthropy fundraising strategy and drive significant income growth. There is exciting scope to build on existing support from trusts and corporates and, with a new DART strategy in place and major new grants recently confirmed, this is a timely opportunity to transform the scale of institutional fundraising at the University of Liverpool. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, you will be part of the Development leadership team along with another new role, Head of Philanthropy.
Landmark projects such as the global Pandemic Institute, the Campus Transformation programme and a forthcoming 150th anniversary campaign offer enormous scope for diverse new partnerships, supported by additional investment in the Trusts and Corporate Philanthropy team from 2024.
Simply, this is a rare opportunity for an outstanding fundraising strategist to enable a step-change in trust and corporate income.
We are seeking someone who is truly energised by this opportunity, and who will bring rich experience and in-depth knowledge of fundraising from trusts, foundations and corporates. We are keen to hear from outstanding fundraisers from diverse sectors (HE, health, culture and heritage, for example), ready to immerse themselves in the ground-breaking work of the University of Liverpool. The postholder will be enthusiastic, thirsty for knowledge and passionate about absorbing new information and sharing it with potential supporters. In particular, the Head of Trusts and Corporate Foundations will be a brilliant communicator who is equally adept at forging warm, supportive relationships with academic and professional services colleagues, funders and senior volunteers, as they are writing stand-out, compelling proposals. The postholder will work closely with brilliant DART colleagues, academics and our Research and Partnerships team, who bring huge experience and insights but are equally eager to learn from the expertise and perspective of others.
Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Jones, took up his position in January 2023 – creating new opportunities for donor engagement - and we are immersed in planning for our anniversary campaign; this is an exciting moment to join the University of Liverpool with enormous fundraising potential.
We warmly invite informal conversations from interested candidates.
