Guaranteed Interview Scheme
As part of the University's commitment to the Two Ticks Status, the Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) will ensure that candidates who meet the essential criteria as defined on the employee specification form will be guaranteed the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at interview. Shortlisting against the desirable criteria will not be applied. However, candidates who do not meet all the essential criteria cannot be shortlisted.
The GIS applies to both internally and externally advertised posts. To be considered under the scheme, disabled applicants must disclose their disability (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) and indicate that they wish to apply for the GIS on the Equal Opportunities Form, which is sent to applicants together with the job application.
The Human Resources Department will monitor the received applications and will discuss the matter with key recruiters if it is believed that a candidate participating in the scheme has met the essential criteria, but has not been invited to interview.
