Year 10 Humanities and Social Sciences Summer School

In July each year the University of Liverpool runs a Humanities and Social Sciences Summer School for local Year 10 students. This event gives selected students from WP key Account schools the opportunity to attend workshops and taster sessions in a range of subjects including law, archaeology, languages, business and more. The visiting young people will be able to meet and question University academics and undergraduate students, recognising how studying subjects in this area at a university level can lead to a rewarding and successful career in the future. Sessions aim to motivate, enthuse and inspire young people, allowing them to experience university first hand.

What can the young people expect?

  • Exciting taster sessions, and fun and informative lectures
  • Workshops on student finance and selecting a university course
  • The chance to meet University students and staff
  • Time to develop their own ideas and ask questions about their future education
  • The opportunity to make new friends from across Merseyside!
