Year 6 Outreach

Professor Fluffy’s High School Adventure

This session is for Year 6 pupils transitioning into Year 7 who may be nervous about this change in their education. The session is delivered by a recent graduate, a current student and a pupil from the high school that many of the young people in the primary school will progress onto. The ambassador from the high school benefits from the experience of imparting their knowledge and experiences onto the primary pupils as well as improved self-esteem and confidence. The primary pupils get a taster of what it is like to be in high school, the opportunity to ask any questions and their future educational journey is contextualised. If your school is interested in taking part please contact Emily Smailes (esmailes@liverpool.ac.uk).

Professor Fluffy’s Subject Tasters

This session is designed to introduce Year 6 pupils to some of the courses that they can study at university and to highlight the differences between primary school and university. We are able to be quite flexible in what we deliver based on the needs of the school but some of the most successful sessions have included History, Medicine, Biology and Music. These take place between March and July and are delivered in-school by a current student or recent graduate. Please contact Emily Smailes (esmailes@liverpool.ac.uk) for more information.
