Personal Statement

Hayley graduated with honours from the University of Glasgow veterinary school (2012). After this, she spent time in mixed practice in Aberdeenshire before moving to the University of Liverpool to complete a residency in veterinary anatomic pathology. Hayley is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (Dipl. ECVP) and returned to the department in January 2020 as a lecturer in veterinary pathology. Hayley is involved in the diagnostic histopathology, the post mortem service and teaching BVSc students. She also holds a Certificate in Forensic Veterinary Pathology.

Her research interests are in infectious diseases affecting ruminants and obtained a BBSRC and AHDB dairy co-funded PhD investigating the emerging disease, bovine ischaemic teat necrosis.
