Intercalation opportunities

We offer all students the opportunity to develop their careers by earning an additional degree during their time at University. This involves taking an extra year of study and gives students the opportunities to enhance research skills with research or taught Masters intercalation options, or to study in an area of interest with undergraduate intercalation options.

Conservation Medicine

As well as our undergraduate BVSc programme, we offer a one-year intercalated BSc honours degree in Veterinary Conservation Medicine, specifically designed for veterinary undergraduate students with an interest in conservation.

Undergraduate research opportunities

As well as the opportunity to intercalate, every year students are encouraged to take part in summer research projects. This is an additional opportunity for students to develop their research skills without taking a year out.

The University of Liverpool’s School of Veterinary Science is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education and has had a scoping visit from the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Council on Education
