Get the most out of on-campus Open Days
There’s no better way to get a feel for our campus and academic departments than to visit in-person.
Meet teaching staff to discuss your course of interest and find out where studying at Liverpool has taken recent graduates. Check out our accommodation and join campus tours led by current students for a real insight into life at Liverpool. You'll also have a chance to explore our libraries, the Sports and Fitness Centre, the Career Studio and Guild of Students. All students, both UK and international, are welcome.

Open Day guide
View or download the June Open Day guide for our full programme of activity. The guide includes information about all the general and subject sessions, so you can start planning your day in advance of your visit! At busy times, the number of guests may be limited for some activities.
You can also pick up a copy of the programme when you arrive at your Open Day.
The Open Day guide for our Autumn events will be available mid-August.
Subject activity
You do not need to pre-book your subject activity. It's offered on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. The only exceptions are some Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science activities which must be booked in advance.
Please note we do not offer Veterinary Science Leahurst campus visits on Open Day. To allow you to see everything we have to offer, tours of our Leahurst campus are part of our Applicant Discovery Days which take place early 2027 (for applicants who have been made an offer to study with us). However, we do have visual displays on our Open Days to give you a preview of what it’s like.
Additionally, we understand that you're likely to bring family members or friends along with you. Please note that due to limited space, pre-bookable activities for Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Science are restricted to one guest per student. If you're bringing a guest for one of these sessions, please ensure they're selected at the time of booking or use the "Manage Guests" option in My Events to make any adjustments (accessed via your email booking confirmation).
Getting here
The University campus is just a short walk from the city centre and easily accessible by public transport. You’ll find useful information about getting here on our visiting the University webpages, as well as our online campus maps. A good place to head to if you're walking to campus is University Square, where you’ll find our main welcome stands on Open Day. The postcode of the Guild of Students on University Square is L3 5TR.
If you do intend to drive, please note that parking is severely restricted on and around campus, so we recommend using the city centre car parks. The nearest public car park is on Mount Pleasant (postcode L3 5TB) which is around a 5-10 minute walk from University Square. More information about this car park and other Liverpool council car parks can be found on the council car parks webpages. You'll also find a number of car parks at Liverpool One, around a 15 minute walk from campus.
Whilst we love seeing your furry friends exploring our external campus, dogs are not permitted inside University buildings or on University transport. Registered Assistance Dogs are welcome in all areas of the University.
Where to start
University Square is at the heart of campus and is your hub on Open Day. Here, you can pick up a guide and a tote bag, get directions and chat to our helpful staff.
Attending one of the welcome talks is also another good place to start your day. Find out what it means to study at the original redbrick university, and why this could be the place for you!
We’ll be sharing more information about preparing for an Open Day closer to the events, so watch this space!
Our top tips for getting the most out of Open Day
Plan your day in advance
Bring a pen and make use of the Open Day planner in the guide!
Prepare questions
Our tutors and staff will be around to answer questions about the subjects you're interested in.
Wear comfy clothes and shoes
Open Days are packed with activities from start to finish so make sure you're dressed in something you'll be comfortable in all day.
Stay hydrated
We recommend you bring a reusable water bottle; our water refill stations can be found on our campus map in the Open Day Guide.

Explore our city
We recommend taking the opportunity to enjoy everything Liverpool has to offer while you're here.
Ask the experts
Visit the Information Zone between 9am and 3.30pm to pick up information and find out more with our representatives from Accommodation, Admissions, Foundation programmes, Global Opportunities, Libraries, Widening Participation and Sustainability teams. The Information Zone can be found in the Mountford Hall inside the Guild of Students.
You can also talk to our Student Services Team about anything, from mental health and wellbeing, to disability, finance and funding.
Accommodation tours
There are three ways to find out about accommodation on Open Day. Choose the option that suits your day most:
1. Attend a presentation
Find out what accommodation is available at the University of Liverpool, how to apply and how much it costs.
2. Speak to the team
The team are available in the Information Zone to explain the different accommodation options and answer any questions you may have about accommodation.
3. View accommodation
Booking is required for on-campus accommodation tours. We'll email you two weeks before the Open Day with details of how to do this. If you book with less than two weeks to go, then just check your confirmation email for further information
We recommend visiting no more than two city campus accommodations as their style and standard is very similar.
You can also visit Greenbank Student Village which is a short coach ride away (please allow approximately 75-90 minutes). These tours operate on a shuttle service and do not require booking. However, if you wish to drive independently to Greenbank (using your own vehicle), a timeslot must be booked in advance.
More information about our accommodation can be found on our dedicated accommodation webpages.
Food and drink
We have plenty of places across campus to stop for refreshments, ranging from hot snacks and sandwiches to bar meals and pizza. You’ll also find independent food vendors on University Square offering a variety of street food. There are vending machines throughout our campus buildings providing hot and cold drinks and snacks if you'd prefer to grab something on the go.
Don’t forget to pick up a free tea or coffee from selected outlets during your Open Day!

Access and facilities
We aim to make your visit to our campus as easy and comfortable as possible.
All our Open Day buildings have accessible toilets. Changing Places toilets can also be found in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, Sydney Jones Library and Chadwick Building.
Open Days are usually very busy events, and some spaces can feel noisier than others. University Square is one of the busiest places on campus. There's a sensory room in the Sydney Jones Library equipped with sensory objects, dimmable lights, comfortable seating, and other amenities. There's also a designated Quiet Space in the Harold Cohen Library, which offers a place to unwind and decompress if needed.
Our Muslim prayer room is located on the lower ground floor of the Sydney Jones Library.
The University of Liverpool is proud to have joined the Breastfeeding Mayoral Quality Mark promoting our campus as a breastfeeding friendly environment. For further information and details of our breastfeeding friendly spaces, please visit Bambis Breastfeeding Friendly Charter. Baby change facilities can be found in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, Victoria Gallery and Museum, Guild of Students and Eleanor Rathbone Building.
The University of Liverpool is delighted to be working with AccessAble to ensure that all of our students, staff, customers, and visitors have clear information on the accessibility of our campus and our buildings.
Please let us know in advance if you have any access requirements for your visit, or if you or a guest require assistance to evacuate a building in the event of an emergency by emailing openday@liverpool.ac.uk. For example, extra support may need to be put in place for those using a wheelchair in some of our buildings.
