Opportunities for engaging with the Journal of Developing Academic Practice

In this podcast we chat with members of the editorial team from Developing Academic Practice about the newly established open access journal published by Liverpool University Press.

Charles Buckley works as a Senior Academic Developer within the Academy at Liverpool University on a range of developments such as the MA in Academic Practice, the Degree Standards Project for external examiners; the Professional Services Ethics Committee and he is Institutional Representative for the NTF and CATE awards. He is Editor of Developing Academic Practice published by Liverpool University Press, Associate Editor with Higher Education Pedagogies and is on the editorial board of Innovations in Education and Teaching International as well as the International Journal of Management and Applied Research.

Gita Sedghi is a Senior Lecturer, the MSc Programme Director and the Internationalisation Lead in the Department of Chemistry and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead in the School of Physical Sciences at the University of Liverpool. She is the external reviewer of the HEA Fellowship scheme at De Montfort University and the MSc External Examiner at the University of Leicester. Gita is the editor and co-lead of the Journal of Learning Development in Higher Education and the associate editor of the Journal of Developing Academic Practice.

Tünde Varga-Atkins, PhD, is a Senior Educational Developer at the Centre for Innovation in Education, University of Liverpool and Senior Fellow (HEA). Her specific areas of research encompass areas in curriculum design and evaluation, assessment and feedback, digital capabilities, learner experience research and scholarship of learning and teaching. Tünde is editor of Research in Learning Technology and associate editor of the Developing Academic Practice journals, and co-lead of ALT ELESIG North-West, a special interest group in the Association of Learning technology promoting and capacity building in the area of learner experience research.

Luke Simpson BA(Hons) has over 10 years of experience in professional office administrative assistant positions and a track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments. Currently working as an Administrator within the Academy at the University of Liverpool, Luke’s main areas of administration responsibility are within Academic Development programmes such as University of Liverpool Teaching Recognition and Accreditation (ULTRA) Framework & Foundations in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (FLTHE).

Clare Hooper is Head of Journals at Liverpool University Press, an award-winning academic publisher that produces approximately 150 books a year, 40 journals and 5 ebook collections, specialising in literature, modern languages, history and visual culture. Clare has been with LUP since 2008, and manages the journal list, which includes Developing Academic Practice, an Open Access journal published in partnership with The Academy at the University of Liverpool, launched in early 2021.
