Biomedical Electron Microscopy

Providing scientific insights through high-resolution 2d and 3d images

Following an investment of more than £1.5 million in equipment and infrastructure, the University of Liverpool now boasts one of the best equipped biomedical electron microscopy facilities in the county.

Although the Unit specialises in analysing biological samples, it can produce high-resolution imaging of any type of sample, making the facility attractive to cell biologists, engineers, materials scientists and chemists alike.

The academic and technical staff have expertise in a wide range of cell culture and cell manipulation techniques and can provide support on all aspects of a project, from initial discussions and planning through to training, application of techniques and assistance with data interpretation.
