Career Development Award

Technology Directorate Career Development Award

The Technology Directorate Career Development Award is currently closed. Further information about the application process can be found below and you can also visit our blog page to find out about the first round.

The Technology Directorate Career Development Award, supported by the Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund, is a scheme to allow postdoctoral staff who plan to submit a fellowship application the opportunity to undertake a small, independent research project. Awardees will receive up to £10k worth of funding that will provide access to TD facilities as well as cover other activities associated with the project (e.g. sample preparation).

Who can apply? Applications are invited from any postdoctoral member of staff within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences who can demonstrate plans to apply to a named fellowship scheme; has at least 9 months left of their University contract at the time of application; and has the approval of their PI to undertake the project. The scheme is not open to academic staff, research fellows, any other staff grades or postgraduate students.

What do I need to do? You need to download the applicant pack which contains a number of useful documents regarding the scheme. In the pack, in addition to the Expression of Interest (EOI) form, are the instruction to applicants which all prospective applicants should read before applying.

When is the deadline for applications? The scheme is currently closed - sorry - but we hope to re-open it again in the near future.

We will shortly be updating this page to include details of the awardees from the first round and their exciting projects - stay tuned.
