Personal Statement
Laura graduated in Biomedical Science in 2010. She volunteered in a laboratory in Ghana, West Africa, testing for infectious diseases such as typhoid and malaria. She went on to be employed by an occupational health provider gaining experience in haematology, biochemistry, and ELISAs. She then volunteered in the Philippines to raise Tuberculosis awareness and promote the importance of healthy living.
Laura joined the newly formed Antimicrobial Pharmacodynamics and Therapeutics group within the Department of Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology at University of Liverpool in 2012 and has since gained extensive knowledge and experience in in vitro and in vivo models of infection.
