Teaching

I teach mostly at the interface between biology and chemistry, including biological chemistry, quantitative biology and introductory molecular biology for first years, enzymology for second years. I also run the second year Advanced Biochemical Methods practical module. I am very interested in teaching innovation, including flipped classrooms, used of 3-D computer models in teaching, and the use of peer evaluation of groupwork. I have been responsible for the development of web-based systems for the management of Key Skills modules, project assessment and module evaluation in the Schools of Life Sciences. I am currently developing the use of Pebble Pad for students' refection on project work and Evasys, the university's new module evaluation system.
