I graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College London in 2010. I subsequently completed a PhD at the University of Liverpool in Functional and Comparative Genomics. My thesis centered around the genome annotation, metabolic pathway reconstruction and proteomics of apicomplexan parasites. I then took a post-doctoral position as a genome scientist at the Mill Hill Laboratory of the Francis Crick Institute (formerly MRC National Institute for Medical Research). I worked on the alpine marmot genome project here. I returned to Liverpool in April 2016 to take up a position within Prof Christiane Hertz-Fowler’s group to work as a genome curator in the VEuPathDB project. Currently, I work under Prof Andy Jones in the same project.
