A collaboration between the University of Liverpool, the Royal Liverpool & BroadGreen University Hospitals NHS Trust and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

The Liverpool Bioanalytical Facility (BAF) is a GCLP-accredited laboratory established and managed by senior academic pharmacologists at the Institute of Translational Medicine, University of Liverpool in collaboration with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

Measuring drug concentrations to high precision and accuracy is core to what we do, but we see our role as much broader than this, with a mission to support research which optimises the deployment and development of therapy for infectious diseases, and to maximise drug effectiveness within individuals and within populations.

The BAF supports diverse clinical studies ranging from small Phase 0-1 first-in-man studies, to large multicentre randomised clinical trials funded by the UK Medical Research Council, UK National Institute of Health Research Wellcome Trust, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, US National Institute of Health, and the pharmaceutical industry.

The BAF currently houses 6 triple quadrupole mass spectrometers.
