The University is committed to encouraging sustainable travel behaviours by offering a range of award-winning sustainable travel initiatives and facilities.

There are many environmental and personal health benefits associated with sustainable travel. By choosing to travel sustainably you’re helping to reduce carbon emissions, improve local air quality, reduce traffic congestion and improve local communities. Our sustainable travel initatives are designed to support a healthy work-life balance and save money.

Initiatives to support smart travel

The University is easily accessible by road, bike, and public transport and however you choose to commute, the University offers a range of initiatives and incentives available to to support sustainable travel to and from campus. Check out our Active Travel campus map.

Join the University's cycle to work scheme

Cycle2Work from Halfords is a great employee benefit that offers the most cost-effective way to get new cycling equipment. The scheme is run via salary sacrifice, meaning you won’t pay tax or national insurance saving you at least 32% on a new bike and accessories.
