Public transport

Cycling and walking are the most environmentally-friendly ways to get around, but if you can't make your journey by foot or by bike, using public transport can help reduce your environmental impact.

Fewer cars on the road will reduce harmful emissions as well as improve congestion in the city region. Liverpool has a fantastic public transport network of buses, trains and, let’s not forget the ferry.

Rail

The easiest way to commute to and explore the Liverpool City Region is by train. The nearest mainline station is at Lime Street which provides frequent services for long-distance journeys such as London and Manchester and Liverpool Central train station is the nearest for more local journeys using Merseyrail.

Rail travel can be booked via websites such as National Rail or Trainline.

Bus

Bus travel is a cost-effective way to explore our city and transport links to the Liverpool city centre is excellent from across the Liverpool City Region and Cheshire. Several bus stops are located around the perimeter of the campus. The 699 service operated by Arriva is a dedicated University service serving both the Carnatic and Greenbank Halls of residence with regular services to and from the main campus.

Additional services can be accessed from Queens Square and Liverpool One bus stations, located within a 15 minute and 19-minute walk of the main campus.
