Waste

During the academic year 2012/2013 the University of Liverpool produced more than 2,000 tonnes of waste from its halls of residence, catering areas, campus buildings and grounds.  Much of this waste could have been minimised, reused or recycled, which would not only have reduced costs but minimised the impact on the environment.

This section provides you with information on what waste is, the impacts associated with its disposal, how these impacts can be managed, what the University is doing to manage its own waste as well as guidance to help you minimise the waste you produce and how to dispose of your waste.

There is also information on our legal requirements to conform to the Duty of Care and the ways in which we do this.
