What Happens at Open Day

Your Open Day programme

Our undergraduate open day runs from approximately 08:30 to 15:30, with most departments open from around 09.30.

When you arrive at Open Day you’ll be welcomed by our staff and student ambassadors, they will help you check in, direct you towards talks and activities and point out where to get refreshments.

As you register for Open Day you will be able to pre-book onto any departmental ticketed activities (Dentistry, Diagnostic Radiography and Veterinary Science). All other sessions are either run as a drop-in, on a first-come-first-served basis or there will be tickets to collect on the day (see programme for details).

Update for visitors to Law: Due to the popularity of our ‘Studying Law’ talks a ticketing system will be in operation at our upcoming Open Day. There are four scheduled talks taking place throughout the day as indicated in the Open Day Guide. Tickets for each talk will be available throughout the day from the Law registration desks in 502 Teaching Hub, where we look forward to welcoming you

To help you plan your day in advance, browse the programme and organise a schedule to suit your own pace, attending the talks and sessions that interest you the most.  Typical highlights include:

  • Subject specific talks, tours and activities
  • Tours of the campus, student accommodation and city
  • Talks on finance, study abroad, accommodation and completing your application.
