Subject requirementsAt least one of the following subjects must be studied at A Level: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Computing.

For applicants from England: Where a science has been taken at A level (Chemistry, Biology or Physics), a pass in the Science practical of each subject will be required.
BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary DiplomaAcceptable at grade Distinction (any subject) alongside AB at A level. A Levels must include one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Computing or Computer Science.
BTEC Level 3 DiplomaDistinction Distinction in BTEC considered alongside A Level grade B. A Level must include one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Computing or Computer Science
BTEC Level 3 Extended DiplomaD*DD in a relevant diploma. If the applicant is not studying A Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Computing or Computer Science alongside their BTEC, then the BTEC must include a unit in Further Mathematics which must be passed with Distinction.
International Baccalaureate33 overall including 5 in Higher Level Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science.
Irish Leaving CertificateSuccessfully complete Irish Leaving Certificate with grades H1, H1, H2, H2 including Higher Level Maths, Physics or Computer Science.

Cambridge Pre-U DiplomaD3 in Cambridge Pre U Principal Subject is accepted as equivalent to A-Level grade A M2 in Cambridge Pre U Principal Subject is accepted as equivalent to A-Level grade B Global Perspectives and Short Courses are not accepted.

AccessConsidered if taking a relevant subject. 45 Level 3 credits at Distinction, including 15 Level 3 credits in Mathematical or Computer Science subjects is required. GCSE English and Mathematics grade C also required.

Extended Project QualificationApplicants who offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and meet our A Level offer criteria will be made the standard offer, plus an alternative offer. This will be at one A Level grade lower plus a grade A in the EPQ, for example the offer would be ABB or BBB plus A in the EPQ.

General Studies

Most (see exceptions below) of our non-clinical programmes welcome General Studies as one of three A levels upon which we make an offer. However, applicants may offer only one of General Studies, Critical Thinking, Citizenship Studies among their three A levels.
