Mathematical Sciences msc

Entry requirements

Applications are welcome from students who have (or expect to obtain) an Honours degree in Mathematics. The usual minimum requirement for entry is a 2:1 degree classification, but we consider all applications on their individual merits, taking the transcript, references and personal statement into account.

Applicants who have degrees with Mathematics as a major component (e.g. physics or engineering) are also welcome to apply. In this case we may look for higher marks to offset the lower number of credits earned for mathematics modules.

International qualifications

Applications from international students are welcome. International qualifications will be evaluated in line with the National Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) guidelines.

English language qualifications

All applicants must have reached a minimum required standard of English language and are required to provide evidence of this. Qualifications accepted by the University can be found on our International webpages. Please see www.liv.ac.uk/international for English Language requirements specific to your country.
