Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

School of Medicine

The Liverpool Royal Institution School of Medicine and Surgery was founded in 1834, forty seven years before the establishment of the University of Liverpool in 1881.

Building on such a heritage, we can offer extensive expertise across the medical professions through postgraduate programmes in a number of disciplines, both on campus and online.

Our portfolio ranges from short professional update courses for current practitioners to full-time,  taught programmes, all with excellent support structures to ensure you get the most from your study time.
