A number of awards will be available. These are awards for both taught and research postgraduate students.
If you are a current or prospective Home/EU postgraduate (taught and research), either born in or with very strong family connections to Merseyside and who has an academic offer from the University of Liverpool, you are eligible to apply. The award is available to all subject areas studied on the main University campus.
If you are a current PGR student, the award is available from October 1st until the end of the third year of your registration (or part time equivalent).
Please note that the Scholarships Sub-Committee may insert additional eligibility criteria to the list above. For example, the Scholarship Sub-Committee may target some awards at particular disciplines or levels, if deemed appropriate.
How to apply
In order to apply for this award you will be required to complete an application form (Microsoft Word). Please ensure you complete all the sections, especially the reference section.
You will need to complete and submit the form by email to the Secretary to the Scholarships Sub-Committee by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications may also be returned by post to the address indicated on the application form, but candidates are asked to consider the environmental impact of doing so.

As an international student, am I entitled to apply for the John Lennon Memorial Scholarship?
This scholarship is only available to applicants from Merseyside.
I have already secured other funding. Am I eligible to apply?
Priority is given to students who are considered to be in the most financial need. You are required to declare any other source of funding on your application form.
I am already studying at the University. Am I eligible to apply?
Yes, the awards are available to current postgraduate research students, however, they will only be available up to the end of the third year of full time study (pro rata'd for part time). Current undergraduate students who plan to continue to master's and who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply. However, you must meet the citeria of either being born in or having very strong family connections to Merseyside.
