Tung Doctoral Scholarship

The Tung PhD scholarship is worth £10,000 and is awarded annually to students from Hong Kong who can prove academic excellence and have been admitted to pursue full time studies at the University of Liverpool.

How to apply

The scholarships are open to candidates who are or will be studying full time at the main University of Liverpool Campus. Students at other sites are sadly not eligible. Candidates are required to have made an application to study at the University of Liverpool's main campus. You should submit an application form as well as the documents detailed on the application form.

Current scholarship recipients

Current scholarship recipients are to submit all the following documents to giving@liverpool.ac.uk

  • Completed PG-HKGA application form
  • Detailed report of your progress during this academic year
  • Supporting letter from your academic supervisor
  • Academic CV
  • 500+ word statement about your year and your goals for returning to Hong Kong or mainland China

New applicants

New applicants are to submit all the following documents to giving@liverpool.ac.uk

  • Completed PG-HKGA application form
  • 500 word application statement including evidence of academic excellence and achievement and why you feel you will make a difference on returning to China after completion of your studies
  • Relevant transcripts
  • Current students in PG study will need to provide a supporting letter from their academic supervisor
  • Academic CV

Please submit these documents saved as PDFs with your 9 digit student number as part of the file name, e.g. SupervisorLetter123456789.pdf. Applications without this number cannot be considered, sadly. Send the application by email to giving@liverpool.ac.uk.

The deadline for receipt of all applications, including supporting materials, is 17 April 2020
