University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship

The University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship is available to (non EU) international students on full-time non-clinical undergraduate degree programmes who achieve and maintain a first class average 70% and above.

About the Award

All new international (non EU) fee paying students on non-clinical undergraduate degrees who achieve a First-class average of 70% or above, will receive a £1,000 tuition fee reduction (deducted from the programme fees raised by the University) for each subsequent year of study if a First-class average (70% or above) is maintained

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award you must

i) be liable to pay full international tuition fees

ii) have commenced a new undergraduate programme no sooner than the academic year 2021/22.

iii) be entering Year 2 of an undergraduate programme no sooner than the academic year 2022/23.

iv) have passed the preceding year’s study at the University of Liverpool at the first attempt with an overall average of 70% or above.

The University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship is not available to students transferring to the University from Liverpool International College (UoLIC), for whom alternative scholarship arrangements are in place.

Where a student undertakes a compulsory or non-compulsory year abroad or year in industry as a part of their programme of study, the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship will not be paid during this period. Students will continue to receive the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship in the year immediately following the year abroad or year in industry providing they successfully progress to that year of study at the first attempt and providing they pass the year of study immediately preceding the year abroad or in industry at the first attempt with an overall  average of 70% or above.

Exceptions

Students entering from 2021/22 and undertaking programmes specified in Appendix C of the Scholarships and Bursaries Regulations are not eligible to receive the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship.

Students will not be eligible for the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship in any year when they are receiving official sponsorship (e.g. payment of programme fees by a registered company, an overseas government, the UK government or the University) of value equal to or greater than the full cost of the programme. 

Previous recipients of the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship who return to the University of Liverpool to complete an MArch programme will continue to receive the full Scholarship, subject to their meeting the conditions stipulated in Sections 17.1) iv) and 17.3) of the Scholarships and Bursaries regulations, in the final year of their BA Architecture programme.

17.3) Students will be eligible for the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship in any year where they have passed the preceding year’s study at the University of Liverpool at the first attempt with an overall average of 70% or above.

Applying for the award

You do not need to make an application to receive the University of Liverpool First Class Scholarship. It will be automatically allocated to eligible students
