Name: Raveena Ravindrarajan
Programme: Law with French
Why did you choose Law with French at the University of Liverpool?
I chose to study Law with French at the University of Liverpool because the programme offered me the opportunity to study a language whilst pursuing my law degree. I also wanted to study in a student-friendly city while being part of a reputable university.
What have you enjoyed most about the programme so far?
I particularly enjoy having two different subjects involved in my programme. I'm able to benefit from different styles of module delivery.
Are you involved in any clubs or societies? How do they add to your overall university experience and what skills can you gain?
I joined the NHSF Liverpool (National Hindu Society Forum) committee this year and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. Being part of a team allowed me to meet people I likely wouldn't have met outside the society. Society activities proved to be a great form of stress relief from the academic side of uni life. In regards to the skills I've gained: being part of the organisation of large events teaches you quite a bit about event management and team work. Taking on the responsibility of being part of a committee has also taught me how to manage my time with extracurricular activities and academics.
What do you like most about the City of Liverpool and why?
I find Liverpool's student friendliness to be its best attribute. Everything is a walk away and there's something here for everyone. Whether you're attracted to the night life or would rather spend a quiet night indoors, Liverpool has something to offer for everyone.
