Entry requirements: which qualifications do you need?




These are considered the same as UK A-levels. Grades in three of the five subjects must meet our A-level grade requirements. Please check the specific course page for the standard offer.


A minimum of 5 subjects, excluding Chinese, Bahasa Malay and Book Keeping and Commerce and with subject specific requirements, where appropriate. For example:

  • A levels grades AAA - UEC A2 in five subjects
  • A levels grades AAB - UEC A2 in three subjects and B3 in two subjects
  • A levels grades ABB - UEC A2 in two subjects and B3 in three subjects

Malaysian Polytechnic Certificates (2 years post SPM)

Diplomas (3 years post SPM)

GPA of 3.2 minimum

Diploma holders with a minimum GPA of 3.0 may be considered for second year entry

South Australian Matriculation

Aggregate score of 350 to 400

Victoria Certificate of Education

Grade B average

Canadian High School Diploma

70 to 80 per cent overall

Pre-university and ITM Diploma

Holders with good grades can be considered for entry into year two


The Liverpool School of Law has transfer partnerships with Brickfields Asia College, HELP University, INTI International University and Taylor's University which allow successful applicants to transfer their studies to our LLB Law programme.

Management and Business

Students who successfully complete the Foundation in Arts, Diploma in Business Studies or Bachelor of Business (Hons) at HELP University College may be admitted into Year 1 or 2 of the BA or BSc programmes in the University of Liverpool Management School.

Postgraduate Taught



Bachelor degree (Honours) with minimum second class, GPA around 3.0/4.0 or 7.0/10 or 75 per cent.

Bachelor degree (Honours) with very good grades.

To study at the University of Liverpool, you’ll need to demonstrate you can speak English. If you need a visa to study in the UK, evidence of competency in English is required to secure your visa.

Undergraduate Malaysian SPM English CEFR B2 with at least B2 in each element. Some courses also accept CEFR C1 with at least B2 in each element.
