The University of Liverpool welcomes applications from Bahraini students for all study levels. See information below to learn more about your options.

Please note that admissions criteria will vary depending on the course you have applied for and that the grades published on this website provide general guidance only.

Entry requirements

Students taking the Tawjahiya (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or American High School Diploma (no APs or SAT Iis) are usually required to take a foundation course.

Students who have completed one or two years of University study may be eligible for Bachelors admission, if relevant subjects have been studied and strong grades achieved.

Students taking A levels or the IB will be eligible to apply directly to our programs. Please refer to the online undergraduate prospectus for individual entry requirements.

Postgraduate Taught

Students must have taken a relevant Bachelors degree.

Postgraduate taught courses at the University of Liverpool, require GPA 2.8 - 3.0/4.0 or B or 75%.

A student who has a GPA of below 2.8 can still progress to the Master’s program of their choice, but will need to undergo a Pre-master’s (Graduate Diploma) certification from Liverpool International College, before they can proceed to the Masters.

Postgraduate Research

A masters and bachelors degree from a recognised university are usually required for PhD entry.

Typical minimum GPA requirements from Bahraini universities are GPA 2.8 to 3.2 out of 4.

For all research degrees, we recommend that you make initial enquiries with a potential supervisor or the relevant University of Liverpool school/department before applying. A research proposal is required when submitting your application, which will form the basis when it comes to making decisions.
