Entry requirements: which qualifications do you need?
Pathway programmes for applicants from Albania
Many countries have a different education system to that of the UK, so you may need further preparation before you can start university here. Pathway programmes provide an entry route for international students whose qualifications do not meet our entry requirements.
After successfully completing your Foundation Certificate or pre-Master’s programme, you're guaranteed a place on your chosen course. Pathway programmes are offered through the University of Liverpool International College.

Students who have completed the Matura Shtetërore (State Matura) are advised to complete a foundation programme at University of Liverpool International College. Students who have completed an internationally-recognised qualification (e.g. UK A-levels or an International Baccalaureate) can apply for entry to the first year of an undergraduate programme. |
English language requirements
To study at the University of Liverpool, you’ll need to demonstrate you can speak English. If you need a visa to study in the UK, evidence of competency in English is required to secure your visa.

We offer a range of scholarships and bursaries which provide tuition fee discounts and help with living expenses for eligible international students.
New from September 2024, check out our Advancement Scholarships. These offer fee discounts of up to £7,500 for eligible master's students and up to £5,000 for eligible undergraduate students.
