One of the first things you notice when you come to Liverpool is how friendly the people are and international students are clearly welcome here.

The University of Liverpool is very diverse and it has given me the opportunity to meet people from all over England and well as the rest of the world. Studying Criminology I not only get to learn about crime but society as a whole and why people behave the way they do. Learning how things work in the western world compared to where I come from will be important in my career as I would like to work for the UN in the future.

I love how beautiful this city is and that everything you need is within a walking distance of the university and students are offered lots of discounts.

Bame's top tips

  1. Learn to budget your time and money wisely.
  2. Don't pack your entire life to bring with you to university, you will not need most of it.
  3. Local people are friendly, don't be afraid to ask people for help.
  4. Bring a few things that remind you of home (so you don't get home sick).
