Liverpool is an ‘art-lovers’ paradise, with plenty of galleries to choose from.
At the Walker Art Gallery you can find old and new masterpieces as well as historical exhibitions and collections. Tate Liverpool boasts contemporary collections and exhibitions for some of the best-known artists. Your student card will gain you free access to exhibitions!
Not to mention, we are also home to the Liverpool Biennial, the largest international contemporary art festival in the UK.
Among the most exciting is the Museum of Liverpool, a celebration of the city’s many great places, people and events.
You can also visit the Victoria Gallery and Museum right in the heart of the University campus. The gallery has permanent exhibitions such as ‘Under the Sea’ and ‘Nasty Gnashers and Dreadful Dentures’ as well as varied special exhibitions.
Galleries and museums are generally free entry except for special exhibitions.
Baltic Triangle is also host to an end-of-term festival every June, known as Baltic Weekender.
Living on Smithdown? Smithdown Road Festival takes over a number of bars and cafés for a weekend of live music and great food every Spring.
