Support for Care Leavers

Coming to University can be an exciting time but we understand that it can be a time of change and many students have concerns and worries.  At the University of Liverpool we are committed to supporting care leavers both prior to commencing their course and throughout the duration of their studies.  If you to decide to apply and come to the University of Liverpool we can provide an individual package of support that will help you adjust to university life and ensure you have access to the appropriate support when you need it.

Dedicated Care Leaver one-to-one support contact

We realise that care leavers may sometimes have additional support needs and we wish to ensure that students have access to that support.  As part of our support commitment we have a dedicated contact within Money Advice and Guidance who is responsible for supporting care leavers.  We will make contact with you prior to starting your course and will invite you to a meeting to discuss support available.  During the meeting we will also discuss your eligibility for the Care Leavers’ Opportunity Bursary and if applicable complete the application form with you.  During your studies we will be your central contact for any queries or concerns including liaising with your academic department or landlord, discussing any problems with your finances, liaising with your Local Authority if necessary.  For further information please ring 0151 795 1000 or email
