Total

Total currently supports PhD training and research projects with the Universities of Manchester and Liverpool. TOTAL recruits many PhD graduates and will support the DTP in further increasing the number, and improving the training, of PhD graduates with appropriate skills. We envisage the partnership that we have today with Manchester and Liverpool continuing and growing via the DTP through the following means:

• Funding support for PhD and CASE PhD studentships (subject to agreement on a case by case basis).
• Supervisory support for DTP students engaged in collaborative research with TOTAL.
• Coaching and hosting of students during internships at TOTAL.
• Training for students to develop their skills to work in a business environment (in our case a large, integrated energy company) and opportunities to practise their technical mastery of industrial problems.
