I’m a first year PhD student at the University of Manchester, as part of the NERC EAO DTP. I am studying absorbing aerosols, such as Black Carbon, their optical and physical properties, and how they interact with and influence cloud cover. I will be collecting data from the field during the summer of 2016, with modelling analysis to be carried out in the future. My previous studies have included a BSc Geography and an MSc in Polar and Alpine Change, both at the University of Sheffield. With understanding the atmosphere being so important in these times, due to recent climate change, the inherent uncertainty makes this topic so fascinating.
