About Us

The Research Degree Administration Team, part of Student Administration and Support Division, manages and supports most aspects of your academic studies. We work primarily with PhD, MPhil and MD students. Our specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice and guidance on research ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Administration of the PGR student record
  • Administration of the PGR examination process; from submission to award
  • Administration of annual progress reporting for PGR students
  • Central administration of research council and grant funded studentships
  • Administration of studentship and scholarship maintenance payments

We work closely with colleagues associated with postgraduate research affairs across the University, namely:

  • Faculty Directors of Postgraduate Research
  • School/Institute/Department Directors of Postgraduate Research
  • Research Supervisors
  • Student Experience Teams
  • Student Support Services
  • PGR Development

The following research programmes are administered wholly by the relevant department:

  • Doctor of Business Administration
  • Doctor of Education
  • Doctor of Clinical Psychology

The Doctor of Dental Science programme is administered largely by the School of Dentistry however the Research Degree Administration Team administers elements of the viva examination process.

Your first point of contact for matters relating to your research degree should be your Primary Supervisory or PGR Administrator in your School/Institute/Department.
