Who are we?

The University of Liverpool Women's Football Club is a fantastic club which is strengthening and improving each year. Season 2016/17 saw huge successes across the board. The 1st team finished mid-table in the competitive Northern 2A BUCS league and the 2nd team came a hair’s breadth from promotion finishing second in Northern 3A.

Once again we were successful in our Varsity games against John Moore’s University with both teams winning comfortably.

In addition to our BUCS league teams we also have a 7-a-side programme. The women’s football programme takes place on a Sunday at Wyncote Sports Grounds Astroturf, comprising of around 10 teams. Matches are played weekly throughout the winter and spring term, finishing with an awards evening in the summer term. In addition to the league, we also run a cup competition.

There is also a Futsal team who compete in BUCS and train once a week.

LUWFC also has a great social aspect to get involved in; our social team ensure weekly socials, and we put all our efforts into the monthly AU nights which enjoy a great turn out! Socials involve a range of fun activities and are always great nights that promote team bonding, such as pre-match games nights. We have a range of special socials at Christmas and at the end of the season. The highlight of the year is undoubtedly Tour, an unforgettable sports team experience! We guarantee it’s one of the best holidays you will go on! See our social media pages for more information on all the events that occur throughout the year!

So come join LUWFC, whatever your ability there’s room for everyone! It’s a great way to have fun whilst keeping fit and joining the club really will be the best decision you make at University. Don’t miss out!

Where do we play and train?

All football takes place at Wyncote Sports Grounds which is off campus, a short walk from Carnatic and Greenbank halls of residence. You can catch the number 86 bus from campus which travels through Smithdown Road down to Wyncote. You need to jump off at Mather Avenue (opposite the Tesco Superstore).
