Ultimate Frisbee

Ever wanted to be part of a fast-paced, unpredictable, non-contact sport suitable for players of all abilities? Why not try Ultimate Frisbee!

What is Ultimate?

Ultimate is a team game with the aim of getting the Frisbee from one end of the pitch to the other without it being intercepted or dropping it. When you are in possession of the Frisbee you must remain stationary therefore the Frisbee must be passed between members of your team, progressing to the end zone to score a point. The team with the most points at the end of the time limit wins.

University of Liverpool Ultimate

Established in 2000, Liverpool Ultimate is a great team growing year on year in an up and coming sport played all over the world. Boasting men’s, women’s and mixed teams alike there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Beginners

Come along to our specially designed beginner sessions. These sessions will help you to learn all of the throws and rules in a friendly non pressured environment.  At these sessions there will be a vast support network from our experienced players, who will guide you with their knowledge to help you improve and grow within the club.

Experienced players

Those with a little more experience will have the opportunity to come along to our 1st Team training session on a Friday night where the team develops and hone their technique, while learning strategies and plays which will stand us in good stead when we go to play in regional and national tournaments.

Competition

We play in a number of tournaments throughout the year, from beginners events to Regional and National competitions.  On average, beginners have an opportunity to get involved in up to 6 tournaments throughout the year.  You will gain experience and progress through the ranks, playing all over the country, representing your University at the highest level. There is also plenty of opportunity to play games at training sessions and during mini tournaments held within the club throughout the year.

Fitness

Along with dedicated fitness sessions during our regular training sessions we also hold outdoor night fitness sessions for members to boost their own fitness.  These non-competitive sessions are aimed for self-improvement and are an easy way to boost your game time at competitions.

Socialising

We pride ourselves on being a very welcoming club and we know you’ll have no worries about making new friends and getting to know you new teammates. There are a variety of social events throughout the year, all aimed at bringing the team closer as well as letting your hair down. These events include; themed parties, games nights and seasonal formal events.

We never hold trials because we feel that everyone should be on a level playing field when team selection takes place.  Everyone is considered by the captains.

Whether you have never thrown a Frisbee before or have been throwing for years, come along to our regular training sessions and bring a friend as well.
