Ski and Snowboard

Welcome to the University of Liverpool Snowsports Club!

Since 1965, LivSnow has been bringing the steeziest of skiing to the University of Liverpool. No matter your ability, from absolute Jerry to full time sender, LivSnow is the place for you to learn, improve or show off your skills on the slopes. With weekly training sessions, freestyle and racing comps, regular socials and student run ski trips twice a year, the LivSnow society is the one to join.

We have training sessions every week in term time, most frequently to Stoke Dry Slope for social evenings of racing, freestyle and general skiing/boarding for just £12!. We welcome absolutely anyone, skiers and snowboarders - the only requirement is that you have to know how to use a button lift. We include transport, equipment and 2 hours slope use (with as much use of the slalom course and freestyle features as you like) keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook and Instagram to find out when the next session is! However, we recommend buying a Snowsports AU membership as after the first two weeks of term, you will need one to take part in any training sessions.

AU Club membership is £40.00. Membership to any additional sports clubs thereafter is £24.00. Please see the University of Liverpool Sports Centre page for pricing and different options available.

Beginner Lessons

For those interested in learning to ski for the first time we arrange beginner lessons in the run up to both the Christmas and Easter trips. Please contact our Vice President Alex for more information. (

We believe that the social aspect of a sports club is the most important aspect. We join in with the iconic AU nights with a different theme for each one but in addition our social secretaires organise a variety of different events including BYOB curry night, Souljam, Christmas Party and the Snowball. To find out when the next one is check out our social media channels.

We encourage as many people to spectate and compete at a variety of different competitions we attend in a year. The competitions are not too serious, a lot of fun and a great way to meet other people with a passion for our sport. Alongside the JMU ski team we compete at Kings which is a fantastic day out for racers and spectators alike. Our first joint freestyle and race comp is BUDS, which takes place in Edinburgh.

This is a two-day competition run by NUCO on the largest dry ski slope in the UK. Unfortunately for the 20/21 year BUDs has been postponed until the 17th April at Stoke Ski Centre but can be guaranteed to still be a fantastic event. Other competitions include the Dome series North where the first 2 rounds are held in Snozone (Yorkshire) and the finals are held at a later date in ChillFactore.

Regarding ski trips, we offer two affordable ski trips in the year, one at Christmas and one at Easter to guarantee no one misses out on the best week of their life.

This Christmas we will be descending on Tignes, France. For more information on the trips please visit our website: or contact our holiday sec (
