Football

There are plenty of opportunities to play football whilst you are at University. Male, female, indoor or outdoor on grass or on Astroturf; we have a wide selection to suit your needs.

We are pleased to be an FA grassroots hub which provides us with all of the above opportunities.

Men’s Club

The University of Liverpool Men’s Football Club is one of the largest clubs at the University, with an average of 80 member we have 4 teams competing on Wednesday’s in the BUCS leagues. The 1st and 2nd team also take part in two events throughout the academic year. The first is ‘Varsity’ an event in which we take on the other half of the city LJMU in all sports, we always win overall however our footballing form could improve. The second and larger of the two is The Christie Championship, a tournament played between ourselves, Leeds and Manchester. Our University finally won this in 17/18 after 27 years waiting!

Competition

Our 4 teams are in 2A, 4A, 4C and 5A and compete against other north west universities. Our aim is to gain promotion for the first team, and get them up into Northern 1A.

We are always looking for new talented footballers to strengthen our strong squads. We will be holding trials the weekend of welcome week after welcome fair. Details of which will be posted nearer to the time of the event by our twitter page. Please follow us @LUMFC.

If you are keen to be selected, especially for those who hope to play in the 1st team we would recommend you join us for preseason training in early September, to do so contact our 1st Captain or Club President with your playing experience and level.

Campus

If you wish to play in a less formal setting, then campus football is for you, which is leagues made up of university student teams. Visit the campus football section online for more info.
