Elf Day - 7 December
Elf Day is our fabulous festive fundraiser designed to get you in the Christmas spirit whilst raising money to help beat dementia. Unleash your inner elf by dressing up in red & green or wearing an elf hat, ears and shoes – as much or as little as you like. Keep it simple with red and green, or jingle all the way with pointy ears and curly shoes. If fancy dress isn’t your thing, why not express yours ELF by baking frosted goodies or playing festive games instead?
How does my money help?
Behind all the festive fun, there’s a very serious reason we’re asking you to get involved in Elf Day. That reason is dementia. With someone developing it every three minutes, dementia is the number one cause of death in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It doesn’t discriminate, it has a huge impact on families everywhere, and currently there’s no cure. In short, it’s a big challenge – the biggest health challenge we face today. Which is where the little (and not-so-little) helpers come in. Elf Day is all about raising money to support people with dementia and their families. Every pound you raise will make a difference. £50 could help us investigate how one type of dementia develops by paying to grow one day’s worth of nerve cells in a lab. £232 could allow eight people affected by dementia to share practical tips and advice at a peer support session.
Christmas Jumper Day - 14 December
On Friday 14 December thousands of people up and down the UK will start their day by pulling on a Christmas jumper for a great cause – to help create a brighter future for children.
Whether you join in at work, at home, at school or down the pub, it’s all about getting everyone together in your daftest woollies. And by donating £2 each, you’ll be giving children the chance to build a better future.
To add to the festive festiveness we will do our old school bring in some hot and cold snacks and treats for a staff Christmas buffet lunch from 1pm to 3pm to cover both shifts with a full team photo of course.
