The Centre for Spatial Demographics Research (CSDR) promotes population research and fosters new research. The University of Liverpool has one of the largest concentrations of quantitative population researchers in the UK, and also has a long history of research and teaching in population geography, demography, epidemiology and allied fields. In addition, staff members are engaged in methodologically-driven research, the results of which are transferable across a diverse array of disciplines where spatial data are collected and analysed.
This research has attracted funding from bodies including the EU, ESRC, National Institute for Health Research, the Leverhulme Trust, the British Academy, and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, amongst others, and has been published in leading population studies, health and spatial analysis journals.
Centre members are drawn from all three faculties of the University of Liverpool (the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science and Engineering). Staff members have strong connections with both the public (locally and nationally) and private sectors and we are interested in building further links.
