Ben Walton

Ben graduated from Liverpool in 2002 and then spent two years in mixed practice in Chorley, Lancashire. Knowing he would miss the smell of manure and the 3am calvings in the snow, in 2004 Ben decided to move to a large small-animal hospital near Manchester. It was from here that he studied for his RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, which he gained in 2007. Prior to moving to the university, Ben’s case-load was increasingly made up of second-opinion orthopaedic work.

Ben started work at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital in June 2010, as Canine Orthopaedic Clinical Research Assistant and has now joined the Orthopaedics team as a Clinician Teacher.

At home, he is entertaining his two daughters, and trying to stop his two-year old squashing her baby sister with her own special brand of “cuddle”!
