These projects are part of the multi-disciplinary EPSRC and ESRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantification and Management of Risk & Uncertainty in Complex Systems & Environments, within the Institute for Risk and Uncertainty. The studentships are granted for 4 years and include, in the first year, a Master in Decision Making Under Risk & Uncertainty. The projects include extensive collaboration with prime industry to build an optimal basis for employability.
Cohort 5 Studentships (commencing September 2018)
- Uncertainty Quantification in Fusion Power Plant Design (Engineering / Physics)
- Assessing resilience of smart critical infrastructures to deal with emerging risks and threats (Engineering / Mathematical Sciences)
Other studentships 2019
- Uncertainty characterisation of ground motion from large earthquakes in urban areas (Engineering / Geophysics)
