UK Government's Industrial Strategy

Industrial Strategy

The University of Liverpool is taking a strategic approach to engaging with various strands of the UK Government's Industrial Strategy.

The Government's Industrial Strategy aims to address some of the biggest challenges faced by society today by effecting scientific, economic and social change in the UK and globally.

We work closely with industrial partners to answer calls from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund for research and innovation which has committed to spending almost £2 billion on various challenge areas between now and July 2021. We also engage with local and regional skills, infrastructure and place-based initiatives.

Our dedicated Industrial Strategy team coordinates the University’s approach including managing an internal Pump Priming Fund, which ensures our academics are ready to respond to calls in collaboration with industrial partners.
