Our partnership with Tate Liverpool

The Tate Partnership, which started in 2016, formalises a history of collaboration that stretches back over the past 30 years in which our academics and students have pursued common goals alongside Tate’s researchers and curators.

Led by Professor Fiona Beveridge, Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Liverpool, the Tate Partnership has inspired researchers to come forward with ideas for joint projects and provided opportunities for the Tate to tap into university expertise.

Importantly, the Partnership is built flexibly, on joint understanding of each institution’s needs and priorities, with regular review meetings to discuss progress and future direction. We believe this approach will ensure this creative partnership continues to flourish and will provide a model for future partnerships between the University and the city’s cultural organisations.

Tate’s recent initiative, Tate Exchange, provides a particular focus for joint projects that support Tate’s exhibitions, and enables the University to engage with new audiences.
