IP and commercialisation
Our specialist intellectual property commercialisation team works with academics to bring University technologies to market.
The team can provide practical advice and support for filing patent applications to protect University inventions (or advising on other means of protection), negotiating commercial licences working with industry partners, and setting up spin-out companies.
Our key aims are to drive innovation to generate impact and income across the University.
Developing new products or technologies is a complicated and challenging process - we advise academics on this process, from initial due diligence and market assessment, through to investment or licence deal completion.
