EVENT: ‘Made from Light’ examines the art and science of renewable energy at Tate Liverpool

The University’s Literature and Science Hub is exploring the art and science of renewable energy during a week-long residency at the Tate Exchange, running 11-17 June 2018.
Get involved in an exciting line-up of events, workshops and talks for the ‘Made from Light’ programme, which showcases research from across the University.
Discover the latest research in renewables from humanities and science perspectives, enjoy the work of contemporary artists such as Martin Rowson, see the Stephenson Institute for Renewable Energy scale model of solar-powered living, and join in the debate about humanity's relationship with energy and the ways in which renewable energy has inspired scientists, engineers, writers and artists alike.
Dr Greg Lynall, Reader in English at the University of Liverpool, said: “The Literature and Science Hub promotes interdisciplinary thinking, so we are very excited to share our energy research and open up conversations about the relationship between the arts and the sciences in the creative space of the Tate Exchange."
Attend one of the many talks, take part in hands-on creative workshops (for adults and children)where you can compose a poem or write a story, draw your vision of a sustainable future, or record and add your voice to an evolving energy soundscape that will be performed over the weekend. There are also colouring-in activities available for children.
Booking for talks and workshops is not essential and drop-ins are permitted throughout the week. Register your interest if possible to make sure there are enough materials and seats.
