About

Personal Statement

I am a lecturer in the Department of Psychological Sciences. I completed my MSci in Psychology at the University of Bristol in 2016. I then completed my PhD at the University of Liverpool in 2021. My thesis titled 'Psychological mechanisms contributing to alcohol-induced increases in energy intake', investigated reward and cognitive mechanisms implicated in alcohol consumption and food intake. After completing my PhD, I worked at Liverpool Hope University as a lecturer.
Within the Department of Psychology Sciences, I am a member of the Appetite and Obesity, and Addiction research groups. My main research interests focus on investigating psychological determinants of food intake. I am interested in understanding how different psychological factors (including social, cognitive, biological and environmental) can affect appetite control and eating behaviour.
