Personal Statement

Dr Leanne Jackson graduated from The University of Liverpool with a First Class (Hons) Psychology degree in 2017, and graduated from her PhD in December 2022. Leanne's doctoral thesis was titled, "The Postpartum Period: Using a Series of Mixed-Methods Studies to Investigate Determinants of Infant Feeding and Maternal Emotional Wellbeing Outcomes". Leanne received international acclaim for her doctoral thesis, achieving the Doctoral Thesis Award from the Society of Reproductive and Infant Psychology (SRIP) in September 2023. Dr Jackson's research specialises in perinatal mental health, morality (i.e., guilt and shame), infant feeding, infant development, and mixed methods research. More recently, Leanne's work has expanded to incorporate attitudes towards parenthood, reproductive decision making, and fear of childbirth. Leanne has been working in the Psychology Department since June 2022 as a Lecturer in Women's Health.
