    Personal Statement

    In addition to my university work I am an Honorary Consultant in Palliative Medicine undertaking predominantly clinical out patient work and I am also honorary consultant in primary care medical care for the Primary Care Trust. I sit on the editorial boards of two international palliative care journals: am UK editor of the highly successful US based Textbook of Palliative Medicine - a multi national textbook first published in 2007. My own book "Psychosocial Care in Palliative Care" has been one of the most popular books in the Oxford University Press Palliative Care series and was published as a second edition in 2010. Along with colleagues Professors Julian Hughes and Greg Sachs I edited "Supportive Care for the person with dementia" first published by Oxford University Press in 2009.
