Major investment in research across our three faculties ensures our research community has access to state-of-the-art research facilities.
Learning resources
Already one of the UK’s leading learning facilities, the University Library underwent a £25 million expansion and enhancement programme to showcase an impressive collection of over two million books and periodicals, including special collections of rare books and archives.
There are dedicated postgraduate study spaces; high-speed, cross-campus wireless internet; 24/7 availability of over 2,000 student PC’s and state-of-the-art video conferencing to support cross-partner research teams and free IT training courses for postgraduate students.
Liverpool is a great place to be a student, it offers a wide array of attractions, as well as being very affordable to live in. The quality of life offered by the city was certainly a significant factor in my decision to return after completing my undergraduate degree.

However accommodation of this type located within the city centre is more usually at a minimum of £100 per week.
There are also a number of privately owned and managed halls of residence located in the city centre.
